Fall Clean Up

Fallen leaves will be picked up two to three times during the autumn season (October-November). For sites that have densely planted trees and/or large, mature trees, leaf removal is a must for maintaining a clean, orderly appearance.

Also, fall is a very key period for the rejuvenation of the turf grass, and it is important that leaves do not cover the turf grass for long periods of time.

  • When the leaves begin dropping in fall, mowing crews take extra time to cut the leaves into small, fine pieces during routine mowing visits.
  • When leaves start falling in heavy concentrations, they are gathered together by means of commercial blowers and either carried off into an on-site wooded area, (to be used as natural mulch) or collected by means of a vacuum and removed.
  • A final, touch-up leaf removal visit may be performed in the late fall, to leave the appearance of your property clean and orderly over the winter months.

Note: Some species of trees do not drop all their leaves in the fall. They gradually lose them over the winter months. A select few trees continue losing leaves into the spring when their new leaves begin budding. Therefore, please be aware that minimal amounts of leaves can be present on site throughout the winter season.
